“Taking the Advanced Fine Spirits course at the guild is worthwhile for many reasons. The knowledge I  gained covers so many topics and has practical applications. Even more important were the tasting exercises. I can confidently say that my ability to evaluate spirits has increased due to participating in this course.” -Wesley

“I am so pleased to have had the opportunity to take the International Wine & Spirits Guild’s Level I and Level II Spirits classes this past year.  These comprehensive and fun classes completely turned my opinion of the spirits world.  Learning the history, production techniques and having the chance to taste such a wide variety of Brandies, Scotch, Whiskey, Bourbon, Vodka, Tequila, Absinthe, Gin, etc. has opened yet another door for me and rounded out my education.  I believe that with these classes I can now fairly represent these products in a variety of wine and spirits related positions.  It was also a pleasure to meet and get to know my classmates who contributed so much to the enjoyment of the class.” -Carol

One of the best parts of attending our Advanced Fine Spirits class is the food!

During the intensive course this past week (March 30th to April 3rd), our syllabus included:

Grilled Skirt Steak with Black Coffee & Pepper Dust, Grilled Red Peppers, Eggplant and Zucchini with Olive Oil and Italian Herbs, 6 month old aged Manchego Cheese, and Smoked Olives

Roasted Chicken Pizza with Fig Jam, Port Salute Cheese, and Applewood Smoked Bacon

Double Cut Pork Chops with New Potatoes Roasted in Rosemary and Olive Oil with a side of Grilled Asparagus

Kale Superfoods Salad with Shaved Broccoli Stems, Shaved Brussels Sprouts, and Blueberries with a Peach Lime Vinaigrette

Look forward to the recipes for these dishes right here!

We strongly encourage you to consider signing up for our courses, whether for the advanced courses like this one or for one of our more introductory options.  The whole point of the International Wine & Spirits Guild is to share our love and knowledge, and our students are what really keep us going.  That includes those of you who love this blog, especially those who can’t spare the time and money to take Guild classes.
