Cherry Balsamic Vinegar

Did you ever wonder how infused vinegars and olive oils are created?  Here is a delicious, easy recipe for infusing the flavor of cherries into balsamic vinegar!  You will be surprised by the ingredients used to make this delicious infused vinegar!

Cherry Balsamic Vinegar

Ingredients

The pits from 2 ” of cherries, either rainier cherries or bing cherries

1 cup white balsamic vinegar

1 vanilla bean, split, seeds removed and saved

Directions

Combine the pits from the cherries with the balsamic vinegar and vanilla beans and vanilla seeds.  Place the ingredients in a 2 cup glass measuring cup or a soup bowl.  Let stand for a couple of hours then strain.  Put the balsamic vinegar into a clean jar and seal.  Store in a cool, dark place or in the refrigerator for 1 month.

Makes: 1 cup
