Right to Left: Jocelyn Fay, Claude Robbins, Sherrie Robbins

The Two Chefs

Hi! I am Sherrie Robbins and I am the Corporate Executive Chef for the International Wine & Spirits Guild . Jocelyne Fay is the Chef de Cuisine at our Denver, Colorado location. Collectively we have been cooking professionally for over 50 years! That’s a lot of meals not just for our families but for our clients, restaurant customers, staff and wine students as well.

I am passionate about gardening, painting with encaustic wax and am in the process of creating one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces for my ETSY store, “Magoo & Girls”.

Jocelyne has a very interesting background. She is from Jounieh, Lebannon which is north of Beirut. She is one of the most passionate people I know when it comes to trying new recipes and learning new techniques about cooking. She has been my “muse” and inspires me to try new things.

Jocelyne is also an Executive Sommelier and Master Candidate at our wine school and enjoys learning about wines and different cuisines from around the world. She speaks several languages and mixes them all up in one sentence. It’s a hoot to listen to her talk to her family on the phone.

As Chefs we both are very into the “farm to table” concept and will be talking about where we source our ingredients (provisions), who the ranchers and farmers are and where we find some of the products we love.

The Wine Guy

Claude Robbins, my husband, is a Guild Wine Master. We co-founded the International Wine Guild in 1997 which this past year changed it’s name to the International Wine & Spirits Guild. Claude has developed over 25 college level courses for the Guild on wine, wine and food pairing, wine history and international marketing.

When we were in college Claude became interested in wine and turned his passion for wine and history into a career over 20 years ago. He is very knowledgable about Wine and Food Pairing and has done hundred’s of wine and food fundraising dinners for organizations like the American Red Cross, Colorado Mountain College and Math Counts to name a few.

There are so many interesting and entertaining stories about wine. Claude is looking forward to sharing some of those with you!

When he is not teaching at the Guild and coaching our students on how to enter the wine industry Claude enjoys reading and building historic models of sailing ships.

What’s Different About This Blog?

Our blog is different in that we (the 2 Chefs) are going to create a 3-4 course meal each month from appetizers to dessert. The Wine Guy (Claude) is going to pick wines to go with each part of the meal and discuss why he thinks those wines are an interesting and thoughtful pairing. He will be discussing how the wine compliments or contrasts the food and how one or the other impacts the pairing.

Our goal for this blog is to help you “create lasting memories” for your family and friends through preparing great food and having it with a delicious glass of wine.
